BRASS is an all-volunteer group that supports the Jacksonville Symphony through financial contributions and by promoting concert attendance. BRASS includes people of all ages and backgrounds who live or work at the beaches and in Jacksonville! All folks are welcome as it is a great way to make friends who enjoy music excellence!
Our mission is to support the Jacksonville Symphony by fostering orchestral music appreciation, promoting concert attendance, providing financial support and facilitating music education.
I graduated from the High School of Music and Art and have been a musician since age 5 when my grandmother (Becky) started giving me Piano lessons. I continued at age 7 taking piano lessons at the Turtle Bay Music School in Manhattan. Music and sports really helped to create a great foundation for my life, and I support young people through BRASS as a Presidential Member.
I grew up in the Boys & Girls Club of America (In Astoria, Queens) starting at age 7 until 14. I learned every sport from swimming, basketball, football, baseball, billiards, ping pong, and more. I learned sportsmanship, leadership, and competitive spirit. This was my after-school activity for over 7 years where my parents would drop me off and pick me up. My parents made sure to see that I had a very well-rounded upbringing with an emphasis on sports and music. My annual membership was 2 dollars until I turned 11. When I became a Junior, it went up to 3 dollars per year. At 14 I became a Senior and it went up to 4 dollars per year. What an incredible blessing for my family and many other families.
It’s very important that we support the children in our community and help give them opportunities to develop, strive, and thrive!
ASPCA hits home for me because animals have always been in our family. We treat them with respect and kindness, and we appreciate all the love they give back to us. It’s important to take care of innocent animals who give their love unconditionally to us and are not capable of taking care of themselves. I am a proud supporter of this great charity for a great cause.
